HIKES
The Ardèche Mountains Regional Natural Park and the maritime pines of the Cévennes create a green cocoon ideal for hiking. There are hundreds of kilometers of marked trails for walking in Ardèche, whether with a guide or on your own. It's a veritable kaleidoscope of authentic landscapes to discover. A true escape for the senses, all around L'Xpérience. The Grandes Randonnées (GR) trails, marked with white and red lines, allow you to cross the Ardèche and reach neighboring departments. In Ardèche, the routes represent 4,500 kilometers. The hikes marked with yellow/white lines are short trips or day trips. L'Xpérience offers you topo-guides of these routes, and if we don't have the route chosen by our customers, the tourist offices will. The routes are to be admired. There are breathtaking views and a variety of wildlife: marmots, wild boars, deer, foxes, birds and beavers. In addition, there is an exceptional flora with flowers and holm oaks, chestnut trees and of course lavender and rosemary. Rinell loves hiking and every week she goes hiking with James and her friend Jessica. There is a great trail to do towards the ridge overlooking the hamlet of Pourcharesse and the Valgorge valley where you can find the statues of sculptor Christian Lapie overlooking the village. Rinell will be happy to accompany you during the low seasons to discover the environment.
Rinell and Eric can always pick you up if the journey is too long or if you just want to do the uphill or downhill. The kitchen at L'Xpérience will be happy to prepare a picnic for the day.

ORGANIZED HIKES
Every year, the "Les Drailles" association offers various hikes. For example, a night hike. The guides are often local elders who can tell you about the region's heritage, history, flora, and fauna. As soon as the "Drailles" map is published, we will post it on our website. If you want to participate in these hikes, a €3.50 membership fee will be required for your first outing. After that, the hikes are generally free.

BICYCLE HIKING
For cyclists, the Ardèche is a true challenge! There are a multitude of routes suitable for all levels. The Xpérience is already at an altitude of 550 meters. So if you start from our location, you're guaranteed some elevation gain. The Ardéchoise is a wonderful adventure and a delight for discovering the region by bike. This year, the 2025 edition of the Ardéchoise takes place on June 10, 11, 12, and 13. You can download routes from the website www.ardechoise.com. But these beautiful routes are also doable during the holidays. A little calf massage will be essential thanks to the professional hands of Rinell! A bike shelter is available at L'Xpérience.

FISHING

Do you live only to fish or do you just want to discover our beautiful river "La Beaume" with your fishing rod? Our friend Freddy Pêche is passionate about fishing and has a lot of experience on the rivers of Ardèche. He will be happy to take you and reveal the "places" TO BE and TO FISH!
Freddy is a native of Ruoms, so he's a true Ardèche native! From a very young age, his passion was fishing. His hobby took up a lot of space in his life in addition to his fishing trips (Ireland, Morocco, etc.), so he decided to make it his profession and create his fishing shop in Joyeuse. A fly fishing specialist, he can advise you on equipment, rods, and flies tied by himself! Creator of a fly fishing club in 1986, many people have been introduced to fishing by him, particularly fly fishing, but also lures and toc fishing, on rivers suited to these different types of fishing. Waders, waders, whatever, he will know where to take you! If you wish, he can take care of the equipment and bait, and Rinell will take care of the picnic! A fishing license is of course required.
